Stockholm International Film Festival launches the new short film award Nikon Short Film Awards
Stockholm International Film Festival and Nikon continuous the esteemed short film award; Nikon Short Film Awards. The award was founded 2022 to encourage creators all over Europe to use their creativity and create the best possible short film consisting of a maximum of 60 seconds. Nikon has a long history of engaging young creators all around the world and now, together with the festival, they are making one of their biggest efforts ever to encourage filmmaking among young creators across Europe. The winning entry will be shown at the festival and the winner will receive a Nikon Z Series Mirrorless Camera and Lens of their choice*, and the winning film will be shown during the film festival.
The competition is led by Swedish Hollywood director Daniel Espinosa, who together with actress Gizem Erdogan and singer, songwriter, and actress Alba August, form the official jury. In addition to Nikon Series Mirrorless Camera and Lens, the winner will also receive professional guidance from an established Swedish filmmaker Tarik Saleh (Boy from Heaven). In collaboration with Kosta Boda, the winner also receives a specially designed artwork by the well-known artist Markus Åkesson.
List of requirements:
- Max 60-second film
- The film may be in any language, but the subtitles must be in English.
- No format requirements, but we prefer as high a resolution as possible.
- Deadline is October 21
- We accept films from all over Europe
